What Darts Games can you play and what are the Darts Rules?
Darts are played by people of all ages. This article teaches you some basic games and the dart rules that any one can enjoy where there is a dart board. All you need is a dart board and a set of darts and you are all set to play many different games. There are hundreds of different games that can be played each with their own set of rules. The most popular one is a game called 501. It is one of the easier dart games to play and requires little explanation and the rules are very simple to understand and remember.
Any number of players may play, but normally two individuals or two teams play. All you do is start at 501 and count your points backwards. That is to say you actually minus your score from the 501 total. For example, let’s say that you throw 2 darts in the 20 section of the dart board and one dart in the 5 section. Your total for that round would be 45 points. You subtract that 45 points from 501 and your new total would be 456. You continue to do this until you reach zero. The first player to reach zero is the winner. However, all players need to throw equal rounds and if another player can also reach zero then there is a tie. 501 Is one of the most fun games around and is played world wide.
The game can get complicated by introducing a double in and a double out feature but the general darts rules to the game stays the same. On the dart board there are numbers from 1 to 20. There is also an outer bulls-eye (worth 25 points) and an inner bulls-eye (worth 50 points). Each of the numbered sections has a double section (the outer ring part on the dartboard) and a triple section (the inner ring part on a dartboard). Let’s take the number 20 for example. The number 20 section has a double and triple section within it. Therefore, if you throw a dart into the double section you will get 40 points and if you throw a dart into the triple section you will get 60 points. Each of the numbers from 1 to 20 has identical double and triple sections all around the dart board.
In some versions of 501 you therefore need to double in by throwing your dart into any of the double section from 1 to 20. You also will need to do the same when it comes to winning the game. However, at the end of the game there is a twist. If you need 41 one points to win the game then you must throw a dart into the one section first which will leave you with 40 points left. To win the game you then throw a dart into the double 20 section of the dart board. That is all there is to a fun game of darts.
You can also modify 501 by playing any number from 201, 301, 401 ect. The rules stay the same as in the 501 darts game but only the total changes. For some more challenging darts games you can increase the total to more than 501 but remember that the basic darts rules remain the same.
